JAKARTA - Institute of Al-Qur'an (IIQ) Jakarta will host an international seminar on the development nagham (the songs) Al-Quran on Monday, September 14, 2009. "This international seminar was held in order to improve the quality of scholarship in the field of the Qur'an's and culture. This seminar will be attended by national and international sources "said Nadjematul Faizah, as chairman of the organizing committee.
She further explained that this international seminar is one of a series of events held since 10 September 2009 date.
Regarding the seminar, Mrs. Mariah Ulfah, Qira'ah IIQ expert, stated that; "This trend now songs (nagham) of the Qur'an are currently experiencing a shift, where the current trend is to include songs from the Iranian region ". That's why later, one of the speakers who presented comes from Iran.
From the organizers also note that technically, this seminar will be held in the afternoon, so when the time comes iftar, the event finished. And then continued with the buka puasa together. (AM)
